Today you didn't gain any weight but that's ok! You have Lasix in your IV now to flush some of the fluid out of your system to help you breathe better. And it worked! You were breathing well today.
I really want you at home today. It was hard to put things away in your room when you should be there but you aren't. The nurses and doctors are taking great care of you, though.
You were fussy for a little bit this afternoon so the nurse had me sit with you and I think you recognized my voice. You were so happy. We sat there, you wrapped your fingers around me and we talked. You had an hour and a half with no "sats." I cried a little as I sat with you and each time I cried, your eyes opened. It was as if you were telling me, "It's ok, Mommy." And it is. I know it is!
I love you so much, sweet boy. And Daddy and I can't wait for you to come home.
