Wyatt is in a new bed - a standard isolette, not a giraffe bed (which has more bells and whistles and can provide humidity which he no longer needs). His bed is still heated - to 29.5 degrees Celsius (85.1 Fahrenheit) which he needs but in time he will move to an open crib.
He is still on the EPO medication used to encourage his body to produce more red blood cells. Every Sunday night they do routine labs in the NICU so I anticipate a higher hematocrit number tomorrow, because of the EPO. In addition to the EPO, he's still receiving the inhaled steroid, Flovent which seems to be helping his breathing.
Wyatt had to go back to 3 liters on his breathing cannula and has been back at 2 for about 4 days now and is doing SO WELL! Today was probably the best day he's ever had in the world of breathing. I think Matthew and I counted 3 de-sats today! I asked the nurse when / if he'll go to 1 liter and she seemed to think soon. (1 liter is huge too because that's usually when they introduce bottle feeding!)
Finally, he had his third bath today. Today's was a "big boy bath" in the sink, not just a basin in the isolette. A swaddle bath. Although he was hungry, he seemed to enjoy it and is very clean!
Oh my goodness he is so cute! Love those bath pictures! So happy he is doing so well!!
